JOURNAL TEMPLATE
The publishing process of the Sriwijaya Journal of International Relations (SJIR) ensures that each submitted manuscript undergoes a rigorous and structured evaluation to maintain academic integrity and publication quality. The entire process is designed to be transparent, efficient, and author-friendly, while adhering to ethical standards in academic publishing.
1. Submission; Authors submit their manuscripts through the SJIR Open Journal System (OJS) by following the submission guidelines. All submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.
2. Initial Screening; The editorial team conducts a preliminary review to ensure the manuscript fits the journal’s focus and scope, adheres to formatting and referencing standards, and meets ethical requirements (e.g., plagiarism check via Turnitin). Manuscripts that fail this stage are returned to the author.
3. Editorial Review; If the manuscript passes the initial screening, it is assigned to an Associate Editor or Section Editor who performs an internal assessment of academic quality and topical relevance.
4. Double-Blind Peer Review; Manuscripts are subjected to a double-blind peer review by at least two reviewers. The identity of both reviewers and authors is concealed to ensure objectivity. Reviewers assess the manuscript’s originality, methodology, contribution, and academic rigor.
5. Revision; Based on reviewers’ feedback, authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts. The revised version is re-evaluated by the same reviewers or the editor to ensure that all concerns have been adequately addressed.
6. Editorial Decision; The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision: accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject. Authors are notified via the OJS platform.
7. Copyediting; Accepted manuscripts undergo professional copyediting to enhance clarity, coherence, and language quality while ensuring consistency with SJIR’s style guide.
8. Layout Editing & Galley Proof; Manuscripts are formatted into the journal’s layout. Authors are given a final opportunity to review the galley proof for minor corrections only.
9. Online First & Publication; Once finalized, articles are published online in the “Online First” section before being assigned to a specific issue. The final version is assigned a DOI and becomes fully citable.
10. Archiving & Indexing; Published articles are archived in national and international repositories and indexed in databases such as GARUDA, Google Scholar, and Dimensions.
