JOURNAL TEMPLATE
All manuscripts submitted to Sriwijaya Journal of International Relations (SJIR) undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the highest standards of academic quality, originality, and scholarly integrity.
Upon submission, each manuscript is first assessed by the editorial team to determine its compatibility with the journal’s focus and scope. Submissions must meet basic formatting requirements and comply with the journal’s ethical standards, including proper citation practices and originality. As part of this initial screening, all manuscripts are subject to plagiarism checks using reputable similarity detection software. Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 25% are returned to authors for revision prior to further processing.
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are then sent to at least two anonymous reviewers, who are experts in the relevant field. The review is conducted using a double-blind process, meaning that both the authors and the reviewers remain anonymous to each other throughout the evaluation. Reviewers assess the manuscript based on several criteria, including:
Based on the reviewers’ evaluations, the editorial team will make one of the following decisions: accept without revision, accept with minor or major revisions, or reject the manuscript. Authors will be notified of the decision via email and are expected to respond to revision requests within the specified time frame, generally within 2 to 4 weeks depending on the extent of revisions needed.
Once a manuscript is accepted, it proceeds to the final stages of editorial work, including copyediting, proofreading, and layout editing to ensure clarity, consistency, and readiness for publication. Authors are given the opportunity to review and approve the final version of their manuscript before it is officially published on the journal's website.
The entire peer review process in SJIR typically takes between 4 to 8 weeks, depending on reviewer availability and the responsiveness of the authors. SJIR upholds a fair, timely, and constructive review system, committed to fostering academic dialogue and producing high-quality scholarly work.
By maintaining a transparent and ethical review policy, SJIR aims to support both emerging and established scholars in contributing to the dynamic field of international relations, with a special emphasis on perspectives from Indonesia and the Global South.
