Author Guidelines

1. General Requirements

  • Originality: Manuscripts submitted to SJIR must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.

  • Language: All submissions must be written in clear and concise English or Bahasa.

  • Submission Format: Manuscripts should be prepared using the SJIR template

  • File Format: Submissions must be in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.

  • Length: The manuscript should be between 5,000 to 8,000 words, including references. 

2. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should be organized in the following order:

a. Title Page

  • Title: Concise and informative; maximum 14 words.

  • Author(s): Full name(s) without academic titles.

  • Affiliation(s): Institutional affiliation(s) of each author.

  • Corresponding Author: Name, email address, and ORCID iD.

b. Abstract

  • Length: 150–250 words.

  • Content: Summarize the research objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.

  • Keywords: 3–5 keywords separated by semicolons (;).

c. Main Text

The main body of the manuscript should include:

  • Introduction: Background, research questions, and objectives.

  • Literature Review: Overview of relevant literature and theoretical framework.

  • Methodology: Research design, data collection, and analysis methods.

  • Results and Discussion: Presentation and interpretation of findings.

  • Conclusion: Summary of findings, implications, and recommendations. 

d. References

  • Citation Style: APA (6th edition).

  • Formatting: Use hanging indent for each reference entry.

  • Sources: Ensure all references are cited in the text and vice versa.

3. Formatting Guidelines

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt.

  • Spacing: 1.5 line spacing throughout the manuscript.

  • Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides.

  • Page Numbers: Bottom center of each page.

  • Tables and Figures: Numbered consecutively; include titles and sources.

5. Ethical Considerations

  • Plagiarism: Manuscripts will be screened for plagiarism using Turnitin.

  • Similarity Index: A similarity index below 20% is acceptable; 21–50% requires revision; above 50% will be rejected.

  • Ethical Approval: For research involving human subjects, provide evidence of ethical approval.

6. Additional Information

  • Article Processing Charges (APCs): SJIR does not charge any APCs.

  • Publication Frequency: SJIR is published biannually, in June and December.
