Sriwijaya Journal of International Relations (SJIR) is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal published by the Department of International Relations, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Sriwijaya.
The journal provides a platform for the dissemination of original research, theoretical contributions, and critical reflections in the field of international relations. It welcomes scholarly works from both early-career and established researchers whose work engages with contemporary and classical issues across a wide range of subfields in international studies.
SJIR particularly focuses on the following themes:
Security studies and conflict resolution
Global political economy and international development
Regionalism and regional cooperation mechanisms
Global governance and transnational civil society
Indonesia’s foreign relations and its role in regional and global affairs
SJIR encourages interdisciplinary approaches and critical perspectives, especially those highlighting the Global South context. The journal aspires to contribute meaningfully to academic discourses and policy-oriented debates in international relations, with an emphasis on inclusivity, innovation, and scholarly rigor.
