JOURNAL TEMPLATE
The Sriwijaya Journal of International Relations (SJIR) is fully committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and ethical publishing. To safeguard these standards, all manuscripts submitted to SJIR must be original, unpublished, and free from any form of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism and duplicate publication.
As part of the editorial process, every manuscript undergoes a thorough plagiarism screening using reliable plagiarism detection tools, such as Turnitin. The similarity index produced by this screening serves as a benchmark for editorial decisions in the initial evaluation stage.
The journal adopts the following thresholds in assessing the originality of submissions:
If the similarity index is below 20%, the manuscript is considered to exhibit acceptable originality. It will be allowed to proceed to the peer review stage without any concern related to overlapping content.
If the similarity index falls between 20% and 50%, the manuscript is returned to the author(s) for necessary revisions. The editorial team will request the author(s) to reduce overlapping content, improve paraphrasing, and ensure that proper citations are provided.
If the similarity index exceeds 50%, the manuscript will be rejected outright due to significant concerns regarding academic misconduct and unoriginal content. Authors are advised to thoroughly revise and resubmit the manuscript as a new submission only after addressing these concerns.
It is important to note that similarity reports will be interpreted with discretion. Quotations, references, and commonly used terminology are typically excluded from the similarity calculation. However, failure to acknowledge the sources of substantial copied content—regardless of the percentage—will be treated as a breach of academic ethics.
SJIR expects authors to uphold responsible research practices by ensuring the originality of their work and by accurately citing all sources. Any violation of this policy, whether detected before or after publication, may lead to consequences including manuscript rejection, article retraction, or formal notification to the authors’ affiliated institutions.
By submitting a manuscript to SJIR, authors affirm that their work complies with this plagiarism policy.
