Peer Review Process

The Board of Editors will choose and evaluate manuscripts submitted to Sriwijaya Journal of International Relations (SJIR) to ensure that they adhere to the journal's writing guidelines, scope, and topic, and are of the highest academic quality. The manuscripts will be evaluated utilizing double-blind peer review, in which neither the authors nor the reviewers know the identity of the other.

  1. Author submit manuscript
  2. Editorial review: the editor verifies the manuscript's originality as well as the publication ethics, format, language, journal scope, and technical writing of references.
  3. Peer review: After the manuscript has passed the stage of editorial review, it will be sent to two reviewers who are specialists in the submitted manuscript's subject. Manuscripts that did not pass the editorial review procedure will not advance to this round. There are several decisions that reviewer can give after the review process:
    1. Accept Submission: the manuscript can be proceeded to publish without any alteration or revision.
    2. Revision Required: the manuscript can be proceeded after revision process by the author.
    3. Resubmit Elsewhere: the manuscript is recommended to resubmit to another journal due to certain reason.
    4. Decline Submission: the manuscript is rejected because it does not meet the requirements of the SJIR’s standard.
  4. Revision: The author will have the opportunity to make revisions based on the reviewers' feedback.
  5. Production: if an article is accepted, the manuscript will be sent to proofread and layout. The author will be notified once the final manuscript has been done. The article will only be published with confirmation by the author.
  6. Published: The Editorial Team will submit the final manuscript for online publication in the Open Journal System as well as for printing once all processes have been completed.

Manuscript Evaluation Criteria

  • The topic's originality
  • Valuable scientific contribution
  • The analysis' coherence.
  • The structure of the submitted article and its compliance with author’s guidelines.
  • The ability to convey information to readers (grammar and language style)
